Alpine Ski Touring & Backcountry Splitboarding Programs 2012 
Whistler Coast Mountain Guides in conjunction with Callaghan Country offer a rustic luxurious multi-day ski touring adventure. By day we will search for powder and adventure. By night we will enjoy fabulous cuisine, the warmth of a log-fire and a good nights sleep. We offer a series of programs each led by an ACMG certified guide. Skiers must have appropriate ski touring gear including skins, packs, shovel , probe and avalanche transceivers. Gear is available for rent. Participants should have a good overall fitness level and be confident in their off-piste skiing ability. All programs are subject to minimum subscription levels. Non-skiing friends or partners can engage in other activities accessible from the lodge including snow-shoeing, nordic skiing, luge and tobogganing or they might simply enjoy the peace and tranquility offered by a stay in a remote mountain lodge.

LEGENDARY SKIING
Like they say ," Location, Location ,Location"
There is a very real truth to the name "Powder Mountain" and being located at the bottom of its North facing terminus, Callaghan Country Lodge knows it only too well!
The reasons for the abundance of cold dry snow is simple. The warm moist maritime air masses that move unobstructed up the valley from Howe Sound are what give Whistler Mountain its rightful designation as a powder snow mecca.
The difference in Callaghan Country is that the same Howe Sound air mass needs to climb 2350 metres elevation and cross 7 kms. of permanent snowfield before dropping its now super cooled, fluffy, abundance down on the wind protected Callaghan Valley.
The result is an average annual snowpack of 680 cm and an assured long ski season with colder snow. Ideal conditions for alpine ski tourring.
