Climbing guides in Squamish

Sea to Sky · British Columbia · 1 h from Vancouver

Squamish is Canada's rock climbing capital: granite from the Smoke Bluffs to the Chief, an hour from Vancouver and forty minutes from Whistler. Our summer courses run here, from a first day on rope to leading multi-pitch routes and getting yourself out of trouble.

If you already climb, hire a rock guide and spend the day on the lines you've been looking at. If you're heading for glaciers, the crevasse-rescue course runs here too.

Good questions

Is Squamish good for beginners?

Yes. The Smoke Bluffs have hundreds of short, well-protected routes, which is where our Level 1 course starts. You don't need any climbing experience.

What's included on a guided climbing day?

The guide, ropes, rack and protection, harness and helmet. Climbing shoes can be arranged.

When is the climbing season?

Reliably late spring to early fall; the granite dries fast after rain. Courses are scheduled on the calendar and private days run on request.
