Mountain guides in Whistler

Sea to Sky · British Columbia · 2 h from Vancouver

Whistler is where Coast Mountain Guides started, in 1998, and where most of our winter work still happens: the lift-accessed backcountry off Blackcomb and Whistler, the Spearhead glaciers behind them, and the avalanche courses that teach people to travel there on their own.

Everything here is run by ACMG-certified guides at small ratios. Winter means ski touring and splitboarding, AST courses, and private ski guiding; summer means alpine ascents, glacier travel and heli-accessed hiking in the ranges around town.

Good questions

Where do Whistler trips meet?

Most ski days and courses meet at the base of Blackcomb or Whistler in the morning; the exact spot, time and lift arrangements are in your confirmation.

Do I need my own avalanche gear?

Transceiver, probe and shovel are included on guided ski days and available to rent for courses. Bring your own touring setup or splitboard, or rent one in the village.

Can you guide a group of friends privately?

Yes — hire a ski guide for the day for up to six people, pick your dates online, and we match you with a guide.
