Rock Climbing Level 2 – Lead Climbing

Our rock climbing programs are design for students to progress from learning the basics of climbing in Rock Level 1, to more advanced ropes and rescue skills in Rock Level 4. On this course, our goal is to learn lead climbing with traditional gear protection or using established sport climbing infrastructure and get you leading on your own.

Learning Outcome: 

  • Review of Rock Level 1
  • How to place cams, nuts and other types of rock fall protections
  • How to build gear and bolt anchors 
  • How to clip bolts 
  • Learn how to of build strong and redundant anchors and climbing systems with a focus on lead climbing risks and strategies.

What to bring?

Lunch, water, climbing shoes and good trail running shoes. Dress for the outdoor, sunglasses, sunscreen.

Harness and helmets, ropes and climbing gear for practice
