On Location Filming

Over the last 15 years, Coast Mountain Guides has been involved in several film and magazine shoots. Our expertise in mountain safety as made us an important component of many productions from around the world deciding to shoot in the Whistler region. Our experience includes organizing logistics, rigging cameras, stunts work, script content consulting, or helping with permits and paper work. Some of our work has been seen in or on: British Columbia Magazine, Canadian Geographic, YTV “In the Real World”, A Place in the Sun (Travel Show), Bend Weekly (Bend, Oregon) and Toyota commercials.

Avalanche & Mountain Safety Consulting

There are many hazards that exist in our mountains and it is next to impossible to remove completely all the risk factors from working or recreating in the wilderness. However, a well planned, well trainned, appropriately equipped and well led operation leads to a resilient group of individuales that has excellent chance of surviving the unexpected with little harm.

Building defences is a key strategy to help us reduce the probability and consequence of an accident. We take safety very seriously and our expertise in mountain safety has been an important part of successful film productions, group events and commercial operations.
